WHAT IS A DASHCAM?

A dashcam is a small video camera attached to your car's windshield and continuously records video as you drive. Dashcams have many applications, but most importantly, they act as an impartial witness especially in cases of accidents, hit-and-runs or police corruption. Companies are also starting to use them to monitor their staff and deliveries.

 

ARE DASHCAMS LEGAL?

Generally, yes. Using a dashcam for video recordings on public roads is legal in almost all cases. Audio recordings are still under grey area from all the conflicting announcements and laws by our government. As a general rule, private communications i.e. audio recordings are protected by privacy laws. You need to get the consent of the conversing parties to abide by this law.

CAN I LEAVE MY DASHCAM IN THE CAR?

Zumi Dashcams can operate in temperatures up to 60-70 degrees. Even if your Zumi Dashcam becomes hot to touch, it will still work. BUT if you do not plan to use your car for long time, we suggest keeping your camera in a cooler area or covering it with a car shade.

 

WHERE DO DASHCAMS GET THEIR POWER?

All dashcams come with a power cord that plugs into the 12v cigarette lighter outlet in your car. You can hard-wire directly to the car battery (optional purchase of Power Cable). The dashcams include a small built-in battery. This battery isn't meant to power the camera, only to save the last footage when the engine is switched off.

 

WILL HARDWIRING THE DASHCAM VOID MY CAR'S WARRANTY?

Please check with your car dealer on their terms & conditions. Some dealers are less strict than the rest and can allow you to continue with the car's warranty.

 

WHAT ARE THE FEATURES OF THE DASHCAMS?

Here are some of the most important features of our dashcams:

  •  LOOP RECORDING - Once the memory card is full, it will overwrite the oldest unsaved files to maximize the recording time

  • SCREEN SAVER MODE - turn off the video display but keep recording

  •  AUTO ON/OFF – starts and stops recording upon ignition on/off

  •  "G SENSOR" – automatically save and lock files upon detecting hard brake or collision.

  •   "SOS" BUTTON – easy one-key button to manually lock the file

 

DOES THE DASHCAM STOP RECORDING ONCE THE MEMORY IS FULL?

With the loop recording, you can expand your memory space indefinitely. However, if your memory card is full – you need to transfer or delete saved files from the memory card. Check your memory card often to make sure it has enough memory space.

 

DO I NEED TO TURN IT ON OR OFF?

With the auto on/off feature, Zumi Dashcam will automatically turn on/off once vehicle ignition is switched on or off. You don’t need to worry about forgetting to record your drive. Just be sure to keep the cigarette charger plugged completely.

 

HOW DO I PROTECT VIDEO FILES?

Are you involved in an accident or maybe captured something amazing while driving? Simply press the SOS button  to lock the video file. This means that the video will not be overwritten.

 

HOW DO I KNOW WHETHER MY VIDEO IS "LOCKED"?

When the SOS button is pressed, a small key symbol or a padlock symbol will appear on your screen. The key will stay on until the file has finished recording. The entire segment will be locked and protected.

 

Make sure the camera has not started to record another file after the event – this occurs when the event happens with only a few seconds remaining on the particular segment. For example, if an event took place at the 2 minute 53 second mark on an active recording that is set to 3 minute files then you have to save press the SOS button again to save the consecutive file.

 

MY DASHCAM KEEPS HAVING "NO MEMORY" BUT I DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF SAVED VIDEOS?

There can be a few reasons for this - either your memory card was not cleared properly or some settings make the dashcam lock video files. To troubleshoot:

  1. Reformat memory card

  2. G-sensor - place at low or off

  3. Motion Detection / Parking Mode - turn off

 

THE PARKING MODE AND MOTION DETECTION IS NOT WORKING?

Your dashcams are equipped with Parking Mode and Motion Detection. You need to purchase the optional accessory Parking Cable to activate these features.

 

 

 

INSTALLATION

HOW DO I SET UP THE DASHCAM?

The dashcams are plug and play!

     1. Attach the suction bracket to your windshield

     2. Plug the power cord into cigarette lighter (or hardwire the Power Cable to the car battery)

     3. Turn on your ignition and you’re ready to go!

 

HOW DO I HIDE THE WIRES?

To keep your windscreen wire-free, just run the wires along the edge of the windscreen. You can also use duct tape to secure the wires.

HOW DO I ORDER FOR "BY ORDER ONLY" ITEMS?
You may contact us to order or request for quote (for Mobile DVRs). Delivery may take 2-3 weeks plus customs clearing. Please note that we will require 50% downpayment which is non-refundable and non-cancellable. Remaining 50% balance will be payable upon delivery of units or installation (depending on contract).
 
WHEN IS YOUR ORDER CUT-OFF?
All orders paid or COD orders confirmed before 12 noon (cut-off) will be sent out within the day. Otherwise, it will be shipped out the next working day. Orders made on weekends / public holidays will be shipped out on the next working day.

INSTALLATION

 

HOW DO I HIDE THE WIRES?

To keep your windscreen wire-free, just run the wires along the edge of the windscreen. You can also use duct tape to secure the wires.

 

HOW DO I INSTALL THE DASHCAM?

  • Carefully insert memory card to the dashcam

  • Attach dashcam to the suction bracket

  • Clean your windshield with wet & then dry cloth to remove dust/dirt.

  • Install the dashcam on the windshield and connect charger to the dashcam. 

  • Run the wires along the side of the car and secure via tape/ insert in the gaps of your car. 

  • Plug cigarette charger (or hardwire the Power Cable to the car battery)

  • Turn on car engine and Voila! Your dashcam is good to go!

HOW TO INSTALL THE REAR CAMERA TO THE BACK?

  • Connect the rear camera to the front camera

  • Run the wires along the side of the car and secure via tape/ insert in the gaps of your car (RED lines)

  • If placing the rear camera outside your vehicle, make sure your rear camera type is waterproof to avoid damage.

  • You can hardwire the rear camera to your tail lights (BLUE line). By doing so, your dashcam view will automatically change to rear camera when your car is in reverse

  • Secure the rear camera via double sided tape/screws included in the package..

  • Turn on car engine and your dashcam is ready to go! Both cameras should be visible on your screen

  • If unsure how to install, you may go to any auto shop for installation.

 

WILL INSTALLING THE DASHCAM VOID MY CAR'S WARRANTY?

Please contact your car dealer to confirm warranty for any modifications.  Usually the warranty is not void for dashcams if nothing is hardwired. We are not liable to you or your dealer for any problems arrising from installing our products to your vehicles. 

 

DOES ZUMI PH OFFER INSTALLATION SERVICES? 

Please contact us for details. For corporate / bulk installations, we can arrange for on-site installation with additional fees.

 

DO YOU HAVE ANY ACCREDITED INSTALLERS?

We have on-call mechanics who can go to your home /office for installation (by appointment only). Contact us to schedule your installation.

 

WARRANTY

 

HOW LONG IS THE WARRANTY?

We provide 1 month exchange warranty for factory defects from the date of purchase (excluding accessories). This is applicable only to manufacturer defects, not user-generated problems. After which we provide 6 months service warranty. 

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO CLAIM FOR WARRANTY?

We will need the complete unit void of any tampering plus your Job Order slip. No Job Order slip, no warranty.

 

WHAT IS EXCLUDED IN WARRANTY? 

Zumi PH is relieved of its obligations under the warranty provisions for any of the below:

  • Due allowance shall be made for fair wear and tear.

  • Damage caused by accident, abuse or negligence

  • Damage from using the products other than its intended purposes

  • Damage caused by improper installation, water damage, theft, vandalism or acts of God.

  • Any product that has been altered, defaced, or had the security sticker removed.

  • Any product that is not purchased from Zumi PH

 

​WHAT SERVICE WILL BE CHARGED?

  • Malfunction after warranty period

  • Malfunction caused by user's negligence

  • Repair following damage during shipment / accident / force majure / unauthorized tampering / improper handling 

 

HOW DO I SEND IT BACK FOR EXCHANGE?

Before issuing a return, we recommend contacting us to see if there are alternative solutions to your problem first. If deemed necessary, we will request for you to send back the unit to our office for repair / replacement.

 

Please make sure to secure the unit with bubble wrap or other protective packaging when retuning to us. We will only shoulder shipping costs of returning item to you IF defects have been found.

 

OTHER WARRANTY REGULATIONS

  • We do not guarantee the proper recording of all videos in cases of accidents or for monitoring purposes. We are not liable for losses due to damages of recorded files, recovery of lost files and failures. 

  • All materials will be repaired or replaced at the company option with a new or functional operative part. All returned parts and products, on which replacement is made, becomes the property of Zumi PH.

  • During the Warranty Period, any hardware which proves to be faulty will be repaired or replaced at Zumi PH's option and expense.

  • Client has no liability claim for monetary damages
